The Gouldbusk Rodeo Association is hosting an OPEN RODEO on July 25th, 2009. Contestants from all age divisions will compete in steer riding, barrels, poles, flags, ribbon roping, breakaway, and tie-down roping. July 4th (10am-2pm) BattleCry teens will be selling hamburgers for $5. a bag (includes hamburger, veggies, condiments, chips, cookies & a cola) at the Shoppin Baskit. Samantha, Paul, Kameryn, Andrew, Shonda, Amy, Kimberly, Kim, Jennifer and Tulissia will be doing several fundraisers and asking for donations. This years goal is to send 50 people to San Antonio TX Feb. 26th & 27th 2010 to BattleCry’s Acquire The Fire event....

Coleman Basketball camp a huge success
7/2/2009
Basketball camp was held on June 15-18. The camp was directed by Coach
Villegas, along with the assistance of Coach Nuñez and Colton Buzzard.
Three groups with a total of 44 campers attended. The boys focused on
basketball fundementals and drills throughout the week and ended
the camp with an awards ceremony and a demonstration for the parents....

Commissioners Faced with Timing Dilemma in Approval and Funding of Courthouse Project

by Jo Ann Eddleman Coleman County will need approximately $1 million in matching grant funds and money to provide for temporary and permanent off-site offices during and after construction if the Court decides to pursue the Texas Historical Commission (THC) Historic Courthouse Preservation grant that is made available on an 85/15 matching basis to shovel ready Courthouse historic restoration projects. To date, 40 counties have taken advantage of the program since 2000, and 14 counties and counting are on the waiting list....
